The Corning Museum of Glass is the foremost museum in the world dedicated to the art, history, science and technology of glass and glassmaking. The Museum offers varied opportunities in many different areas for candidates who have the knowledge and expertise to join our professional staff of approximately 180 individuals.

Located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State, just a few hours from New York City, Washington, D.C. and Toronto, the area offers a variety of outdoor activities and cultural attractions. Full-Time Positions

The Corning Museum of Glass seeks an experienced and innovative library professional as the Chief Librarian. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the Museum’s renowned Rakow Research Library, a well-resourced institution open to the public that houses a comprehensive collection of materials on the art and history of glass and glassmaking.
The Manager of Institutional Giving spearheads the Museum’s foundation, corporation and governmental giving efforts and identifies and qualifies these potential institutional donors; creates and implements strategies to maximize engagement with and secure philanthropic support from these sources of funding.

Seasonal and Part-Time Positions

During our peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), we add a number of seasonal workers in front-line positions such as Sales Associates in the Museum Shops, Guest Services Associates at the admissions desk and throughout the Museum as well as in the Make Your Own Glass workshop at The Studio. These are temporary positions. Glassblowers and Flameworkers

Do you want to spend your summer in a creative environment? The Make Your Own Glass Workshop of The Corning Museum of Glass offers glassblowers and flameworkers employment during our peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). We look for individuals to assist visitors blow glass ornaments, pull flowers at the furnace, or make glass beads. If you are self-motivated, responsible, have good customer service skills, and are experienced in glassblowing or flameworking, please send resume and work portfolio to Kalli Snodgrass at myog_employment@cmog.org.
